18 May Green-fingered Ambler families join forces for Gardening Day
Green-fingered Ambler families joined forces for Gardening Day this weekend, helping to spruce up the provision’s outdoor space in time for summer.
The event was organised by Grow Ambler and took place on Sunday 14th May, with pupils, parents, carers, grandparents and siblings all mucking in to help.
The weather was beautiful and everyone took part in spreading woodchip, planting and made wonderful arts and crafts. The volunteers spruced up the flowerbeds outside the Children’s Centre, cleared out dead plants, set up irrigation and created decorations for the upcoming One World Day celebration of Ambler’s diverse community.
Advice and assistance for biking children was provided by Wheelytots, a registered charity which helps families cycle more regularly, while the whole event was rounded off with delicious pizza cooked in the outdoor oven.

The next Gardening Day will be held on Sunday 18th June, the date of the Great Get Together. It would be wonderful to see even more people from Ambler’s community taking part in enjoying the food, planting and entertainment, as well as arts and crafts.
