Grow Ambler’s brilliant Family Day in the garden!

11 Mar Grow Ambler’s brilliant Family Day in the garden!

Grow Ambler held a brilliant Family Day last weekend, when lots of parents/carers and their children came to help revamp our garden by planting seeds, weeding overgrown areas and building shelters.

Although the weather could have been better, the day itself was great! Everyone got stuck in with their shovels to help lay some beautiful wood chip pathways, which will help our children explore their surroundings:

Eleanor and Georgia’s parents Jon and Hannah also constructed some wooden cold frames, which will use solar energy and insulation to create a microclimate within the garden:

Grow Ambler also used their initiative to build some pallet beds, a cheap and practical way of creating garden boxes for small plots of veggies and flowers:

To bring the day to a close, everyone tucked into their picnics and George’s dad Pascal supervised the pizza oven for all our hungry gardeners:

Thank you so much to all our parents and children who have transformed the garden. Their dedication has improved a special part of the school that parents/carers might not normally see.
