Ambler Primary School and Children’s Centre have installed ‘Green Screens’ made from ivy to combat playground air pollution.
An area on Blackstock Road has been transformed thanks to The Plantman‘s hard work, with our lush panels now making the space a lot greener!

The exciting project has all been made possible thanks to a grant from the Mayor of London’s Greener City Fund, supported by donations and fundraising by Friends of Ambler.
The parent-led group applied to the Fund along with Grow Ambler, our environmentally conscious volunteers, to help transform the playground into a greener, healthier and more attractive space.
@AmblerSchool the screens have made a transformation +hopefully #greenercityfund impact on pollution in some small way along with all our other initiatives.
Thanks to all that made it happen ! @FoAmbler @MayorofLondon @LDN_environment @mayorsfund @GrowAmbler https://t.co/IopqQU1yQw— Ambler (@AmblerSchool) April 25, 2018
The next stage will be to install a pergola with fragrant climbers such as honeysuckle and jasmine planted to grow upwards. There will be opportunities for the extended Ambler community to find out more and help put the grant to work on upcoming Gardening Days.
